Privacy & Terms
UPG Terms and Conditions
- Although UPG never requires contracts, some participating vendors may require contracts or contract extensions for maximum discounts.
- Individual vendors may ask members to sign contracts or agreements. We never share your information with anyone outside our circle of vendors. Our site is secure, so that your data will always be safe.
UPG is Committed to Protecting Your Privacy
We respect our members’ right to privacy. We thank you for the trust that you place in us and we want you to know that the information you share with us will be treated with care. In this Privacy Policy, UPG will disclose and explain personally identifiable information and other information we collect, use, and share and explain the privacy choices that you can make regarding this information. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected by UPG or our affiliated vendors via the UPG website. UPG may provide links to third-party websites. This Privacy Statement does not apply to any information you may provide while on such sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies on those sites before providing any of your PII on such sites.
PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Personally identifiable information (“PII”) is information that identifies an individual or is directly associated with a specific person or entity such as a name, address, telephone number, email address, or information about activities which can be directly linked to that person or entity. In all circumstances, other than a choice to opt-out, reference in this policy statement to “you” or “your” also includes you and all others identified by UPG as part of your membership with UPG. Reference in this statement to “information you provide” includes information provided by you, or others on behalf of you as a Member of UPG. Our definition of PII does not include “aggregate” information. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of products, services or website visitors, from which individually identifiable information has been removed. In other words, information about how you use a Member program or service may be collected and combined with information about how other Members use the same service, but no personal information will be included in the resulting data. Aggregate data helps UPG and its vendor partners understand trends and members’ needs so that we can better consider new products, services, programs and tailor existing products and services to Members’ desires.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the UPG website and/or register as a Member of UPG, we collect information, including PII, which is provided by you. We may also automatically collect some information when you visit our website, such as your computer’s network address and operating system, the site from which you linked to us, your site activity and the time and date of your visit. This information may be collected through the use of “cookies.” We may also receive information from our vendor partners who administer Member Programs or provide Member benefits or services and we may combine this information with the other personal information we maintain about you. In either case, this Privacy Policy governs the collection and use of this information. Cookies are widely used, and most web browsers are configured initially to accept Cookies automatically. If you prefer not to accept Cookies, you may adjust your browser settings to notify you when a Cookie is about to be sent, or you may configure your browser to refuse Cookies automatically. However, if you turn off Cookies, or refuse to accept a request to place a Cookie, some features and services on the UPG website may not function properly.
HOW WE USE AND SHARE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The PII we collect is generally used to process your membership registration, requests for additional information about vendor partner programs, provide you with high-quality service, tell you about opportunities we think will be of interest, and understand your needs so that we can serve you better. We may also use personal information we collect to provide you with promotional information, which is information we believe will add value to your membership, such as notification of upcoming, new, or improved discounts or programs available to UPG Members through UPG’s vendor partners.
UPG does not sell or share PII collected via this website or via the e-mails covered by this Privacy Policy with entities outside of those few select vendor partners with whom UPG contracts to provide UPG Members deeply discounted programs, products and services as required or permitted by law. All companies with whom UPG works are required to safeguard PII.
Occasionally, UPG may share PII with its selected vendor partners so that they can independently market their own products and services directly to you (“Promotional Information”). If you prefer not to receive Promotional Information directly from UPG vendor partners, we make it easy for you to let us know. You may contact us at any time to decline Promotional Information. Please note that it may take some time, consistent with applicable law, for us to process your request.
We may also use or disclose your information, including PII, to comply with the law or in response to a subpoena, court order, government request, or other legal process, or as otherwise permitted or required by law and this Privacy Policy.
